J-MADeM, an open-source library for social decision-making

چکیده
This paper presents J-MADeM, a new market-based multi-agent approach devoted to perform social simulations with BDI agents. J-MADeM is available as an open-source library integrated into Jason [2], the successful interpreter for the AgentSpeak programming language [16]. The aim of this work is to improve Jason by incorporating the main features of MADeM [10], a market-based mechanism for social decision making. Thus, J-MADeM agents can easily define the utility functions expressing their preferences and find socially acceptable decisions for specific decision problems. This paper fully explains the three main features offered by J-MADeM to AgentSpeak programmers: (i) an agent architecture that Jason agents can use to carry out their own MADeM decisions, (ii) an interface to develop utility functions that can be used along with the MADeM model and (iii) a set of internal actions to manage the parameters of these kinds of decisions.

متن کاملMADeM: a multi-modal decision making for social MAS
This paper presents MADeM, a multi-modal agent decision making to provide virtual agents with socially acceptable decisions. We consider multi-modal decisions as those that are able to merge multiple information sources received from a MAS. MADeM performs social decisions since it relies on auctions, a well known market-based coordination mechanism. Our social agents express their preferences f...
متن کاملDeveloping a Citizen-Centric Spatial Decision-Making System to Support the Process of Participatory Construction in Urban Distressed Textures
Todays, urban distressed textures are considered as a vital concern of managers, particularly in large cities. These areas, which also appear in official parts of cities, are vulnerable because of prospective problems. Lack of proper accessibility, services, facilities, and infrastructures, as well as social, economic, environmental and spatial problems, are key problems of these areas. Althoug...

In decision making regarding an item/person recommendation system helps people. Increase in World Wide Web and E-commerce are the channel for recommendation system. Due to large size of data, recommendation system suffers from scalability problem. One of the solutions for this problem is Hadoop. Collaborative filtering is a machine learning algorithm and Mahout is an open source java library wh...
متن کاملA Tabu Search Method for a New Bi-Objective Open Shop Scheduling Problem by a Fuzzy Multi-Objective Decision Making Approach (RESEARCH NOTE)
This paper proposes a novel, bi-objective mixed-integer mathematical programming for an open shop scheduling problem (OSSP) that minimizes the mean tardiness and the mean completion time. To obtain the efficient (Pareto-optimal) solutions, a fuzzy multi-objective decision making (fuzzy MODM) approach is applied. By the use of this approach, the related auxiliary single objective formulation can...
